Review the first chapter of my story!?

It's really good; very descriptive and captivating. I would recommend that you try to be more detailed when describing the character's surroundings; you need to make it feel like the reader is there. Also, when you continue writing keep in mind how you want the characters to be portrayed. They have to have personalities and traits that stand out and are memorable to the reader. You also may want to add a paragraph or two to the beginning where the narrator introduces themselves and sets the overall tone of the story; make it known that this is a reflection the narrator is having later in their life.
