Are we going to win this war in Afghanistan?

It is doubtful that anyone could win this war. The British tried twice and the Russians once before being stalemated and driven out. A war in Mountainous terrain is one of the most difficult places to fight and hold and is generally avoided. Government there has been tribal for centuries which means every small group is operating for themselves and their loyalty is continually in flux. Money and supplies will continue to pour in from the surrounding region because the predominate religion is seen to be under attack and political advantage is also sought. RES
